Date unknown Seigokan Australia was originally registered with Federation of Australian Karate Organisations (FAKO) in NSW by Cesar Pereira from Macau Seigokan. The club later folded due to Cesar Pereira's other commitments.
1981 APUKO was held in Austrália. One of the competing teams was from Hong Kong and consisted of mainly Seigokan members. Stephen Hockey from Karate Academy of Japan (Seiwakai goju ryu) invited them to train at the Ashfield hombu dojo. Being dissatisfied with KAJ, Stephen asked the Hong Kong team how to go about joining Seigokan. Correspondence then took place between Stephen Hockey and Kancho sensei Seigo Tada.
1982 The new Seigokan Australia starts operating. The founding members were: Stephen Hockey, John Novak, Mark Gooch, Mark Bebbington, Robert Jang, Leroy Oliverio, Barry Lilli, Adrian Kuszis and Alan Oxley.
